In the past, the Ladies Edition was played for the travelling Picasso Cup trophy and the Gentlemen Edition for the Picasso Trophy.

Since 2020, the World Series has been contested in a mixed format for a unique travelling trophy. Only 1 winner emerges, whether man or woman.

Prizes: An original travelling trophy for the SCWS winner and an original travelling trophy for the winning SCWS team; material prizes; a prize for the winner of the winner prediction game; souvenirs

Points: The top ten players score, and the SCWS winner earns 40 points in the season standings under the Season Standings Scoring / see below.

Player seeding for the World Series

The Smoking Cat World Series, SCWS2025, is open to 30 players.

In case of greater interest, a qualifier for the World Series will be held, as is tradition.

Priorities & Wild cards

For the SCWS players' major tournament, 25 players will be invited as a priority based on their season results (see below); the remaining 5 places (or more, if not all priority-entitled players register) will be filled on the basis of wild cards.
